Preparing for Your Floating Floor Installation

• Installing new floating floor is a construction project, so be prepared for some noise and strong odors during the process. Make sure your pets and small children are attended to and are in a safe place away from the work area. If there are those that have respiratory considerations or are sensitive to dust and other allergens, it is recommended that they avoid the construction area all together until work and cleanup is completed.
• The installation area must be completely enclosed with all doors and windows in place. It is also preferred that heating and air-conditioning is fully operational for at least 72 hours before flooring installation.
• All wet construction processes such as paint, drywall or plaster should be completed well before installation.
• Electricity is available for tools and equipment that may be necessary.
• Special arrangements need to be made to move dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, washers/dryers, stoves, other major appliances or large equipment. If installers perform appliance moving services, they will reconnect water lines but cannot be held responsible should leaks occur or for the operation of the appliance. Any gas appliance with a shutoff valve can be disconnected and moved/replaced but installers are prohibited from reconnecting the gas line.
• Ensure that all electronics, grandfather clocks, pool tables or antiques and other large items are moved to a safe place by you the homeowner
• Installers may remove interior doors during the installation and will re-hang them if possible. It is your responsibility to trim doors and re-hang if re-sizing is necessary.
• Secure all personal items and valuables.
• Clear the tops of all dressers, desks, chests or other furniture items of all objects and items. Make sure shelves, hutches, and bookcases are emptied and glass shelves are removed.
• The installation crew will not move boxes and/or storage bins, only the furniture
• Beds – Remove all linens from the beds and Completely drain waterbeds.
• Remove all items from all closet floors & remove all hanging items from the lower racks of the closets, if we are installing floating floor in them.
• Empty aquariums and prepare to be moved.
• Disassemble and move all electronics including all TV's, computers, sound systems and other electronic devices. We Do Not re-hook up any electronics.
• Identify any hidden wiring for electronics or security systems and relay that information to the installation crew or your sales associate in advance. WIRES may or may not be installed under floating floor.
• If existing carpet is saturated from pet urine or other objectionable materials or contains insect infestation, the customer will be responsible for flooring removal or may be subject to additional fees.
• Please understand that painted base boards, woodwork and painted areas may need retouching after the installation is complete and is solely the customer's responsibility.
• New shoe mold or ¼ round install by us, will only be primed white or Clear, and painting or staining is the customer’s responsibility.
• Please remove your cars out of the drive way before the installers get there

During Your Installation

• We request that you keep children and pets away from the installation area.
• Have an adult over the age of 18 that can act as a decision maker on site at all times unless previous arrangements have been made with the sales associate.
• Keep the temperature in the installation area between 65 and 75 degrees.
• Should there be concealed damage to sub floors discovered after removal of existing flooring, additional work may be required. Because this can only be determined after removal, there may be additional charges for repair of or replacement of sub floor that will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
• It is not the responsibility of the installer to repair squeaky sub floors or wall structures.
• We are not responsible for any problems that may arise due to pre-existing structural or other conditions such as asbestos, mold or building code violations

Floating FLOOR INSTALLATION WARRANTY and maintaining it

All Flooring & Beyond LLC and R & T Installation warranties the workmanship of your FloatingFloor installation for One year after the completion of work and paid in full. All workmanship is guaranteed to be first quality. Should any defects due to faulty workmanship become apparent, All Flooring & Beyond LLC and R & T Installation will correct the problem free of charge. Product defects are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty covers only the installation provided by All Flooring & Beyond LLC and R & T Installation. This warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, neglect, improper use, cleaning agents or by loose lay installation. This warranty does not apply for gouges scratched or damage caused by water, erosion, insects, pets, spiked heel shoes, neglect, misuse, insufficient protection, improper maintenance, not maintaining proper humidity conditions or failure to follow any written instructions. We cannot guarantee against fading due to sunlight. As time goes by natural exposure to sunlight will slightly change the color of any floor

The following are examples of the reasonable and necessary maintenance you are expected to perform. They are not intended to be an exclusive list.
1. Sweep or vacuum regularly since built-up grit can damage the surface of the floor. The vacuum head must be a brush or felt type. Be certain the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not damage the finish. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar head.
2. Remove spills promptly using a soft cloth and cleaning products recommended.
3.. Do not use hardwood floor cleaning machines or steam cleaners.
4. We recommends Bona Hard Laminate or Vinyl Flooring Cleaner with a terry cloth mop. Always vacuum the floors prior to using Bona. Do not allow excess cleaner to remain on the floors surface as this may permanently damage the fiber.
5. Important: Do not use oil soaps, liquid or paste wax products or other household cleaners that contain citrus oils, lemon oil, Tung oil, silicon, or ammonia since these warranties do not cover damage caused by nonrecommended products. Use of these and other such products will harm the long-term performance of your floor and may also affect its recoatability.
6. Do not use 2 in 1 cleaners with polish that may contain acrylics or urethane polish to restore gloss – damage resulting from the use of these products will not be covered under warranty and may produce unsatisfactory results when not applied properly.
7. Keep pets’ nails trimmed, and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel, grease, oil, and stains.
8. Place protective felt pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and dents. Replace pads as needed.
9. Use a dolly and protective sheets of plywood when moving heavy objects, furniture, or appliances.
10. Make certain furniture casters are clean and operate properly (a minimum 1” wide vinyl surface where it comes in contact with wood is recommended). Clean wheels periodically to remove dirt and debris.
11. Remove shoes with spiked or damaged heels before walking on floor.
12. Exposure to the sun and its UV rays accelerates the oxidation and aging of Floor. This can cause the stain and/or floor to fade and/or to change color. We recommend that you rearrange rugs and furniture periodically so the floor ages evenly. These warranties do not cover damage from the sun and its UV rays.
13. Use area rugs in high traffic areas and pivot points (e.g., stair landings, room entries, etc.), especially if you have a large family or indoor pets.
14. Maintain the proper Relative Humidity in your home between 35% - 55%.
